Context of the mandate

Volunteering with Arborescence is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of families and loved ones supporting someone living with a mental health disorder.

As a Telephone Receptionist, you will develop your listening, communication, and needs exploration skills while gaining a deeper understanding of the realities experienced by families and loved ones. You will become part of a caring team and contribute to helping people find the support, information, and resources that best meet their needs.

 

 

Tasks

• Provide psychosocial support over the phone
• Enter information into the database
• Register clients for various services
• Refer clients to other resources when necessary

Desired qualifications

• Knowledge and/or experience in helping relationships, mental health, and supporting loved ones of people living with mental health challenges (an asset)
• Demonstrated autonomy and empathy
• Commitment to confidentiality
• Comfortable working with multiple computer tools and digital platforms simultaneously (particularly Google Workspace)

Expected level of involvement

• Be available for a minimum of one 3.5-hour shift per week (either from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or from 1:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.).
• Commit to volunteering for a minimum period of six (6) months.
• Attend mandatory in-person training on psychosocial intake at our offices (dates to be determined).
