BOARD OF DIRECTORS POSITION – PHILANTHROPY PROFILE In keeping with the organization’s mission and values, the incumbent is responsible for supporting and advancing the organization’s philanthropic development.
Tasks
RESPONSIBILITIES Develops, implements, and monitors diversified fundraising strategies (donation campaigns, events, partnerships, etc.) Conducts strategic monitoring of trends in the philanthropic sector, funding mechanisms, and social and environmental (ESG) issues Identifies potential new partners, donors, and funding organizations Develops outreach strategies and coordinates engagement efforts with prospective partners, donors, and funders Oversees the negotiation, communications, execution, and fulfillment of partnership agreements Plans and monitors the fundraising budget, ensuring optimal use of resources Develops and maintains solicitation, donor stewardship, and fundraising analysis tools Supports staff in preparing and following up on grant applications to public and private funders, including accountability requirements and reports on the use of funds Evaluates the impact of fundraising activities Actively builds relationships with and promotes the organization’s activities within the community Contributes to efforts to promote and communicate the organization’s mission and impact

COMPETENCY PROFILE The incumbent works within a nonprofit organization or institution and is able to address the challenges associated with scaling the organization’s activities and impact. To ensure greater complementarity of skills within its Board of Directors, DéfPhys Sans Limite is primarily seeking an individual with the following profile: Desired Competencies Persuasiveness and ability to influence Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build lasting relationships based on trust Organization, structure, and attention to detail Autonomy and ability to take initiative Team spirit and ability to mobilize others Strong ethical standards and commitment to transparency in fund management Required Qualifications Degree in management, philanthropy/fund development, or a related field Governance training Fluency in written and spoken French Proficiency in Microsoft Office Familiarity with the Microsoft 365 environment Experience in fundraising or partnership development is an asset
Expected level of involvement
COMMITMENT A two-year commitment, including one Board of Directors meeting per month, as well as occasional additional meetings as required. Meetings are held virtually. Attendance at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) is expected. Board members are also expected to participate, as reasonably possible, in the organization’s activities and events.
