Opportunity Summary Joining the Board of Directors of AQEPA Montréal Regional is an opportunity to put your expertise to work for a meaningful cause and make a tangible difference in the lives of deaf and hard of hearing youth and their families. It is also an opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction of a well-established and growing organization that serves five administrative regions and reaches more than 1,500 individuals each year through its programs, services, activities, and awareness initiatives. Detailed Description We are seeking to welcome an individual with experience in governance and strategic planning to our Board of Directors. Over the coming years, AQEPA Montréal Regional will be embarking on a new strategic planning process to guide its development and support the continued expansion of its services throughout its territory. We are looking for someone who can contribute to board discussions, provide a strategic perspective on organizational issues, and support the organization in identifying future development priorities. This individual may also be called upon to assume a greater leadership role within the Board of Directors as we prepare for the succession of certain governance functions in the coming years. Our Board is composed of parents and dedicated community members who have a deep understanding of the realities faced by deaf and hard of hearing youth and their families. We are therefore looking to complement this lived experience and field expertise with skills in governance, organizational development, and strategic thinking. Desired Profile We are seeking an individual with experience in governance, organizational development, or strategic planning. We particularly value candidates who are able to think strategically, analyze long-term challenges and opportunities, and support a board of directors in its decision-making and strategic discussions. We value collaborative, respectful, and engaging leadership, as well as the ability to work effectively with board members from diverse backgrounds. Experience serving on a board of directors, working within a non-profit organization, or holding a management or leadership position would be considered a strong asset. Commitment Two-year term. Approximately 7 to 8 meetings per year, held virtually via Zoom, except for the in-person Christmas dinner. Opportunity to get involved in a committee alongside this role.
