The network promotes cooperation, sharing of practices, knowledge co‑construction, and innovation to strengthen citizen‑led initiatives for peace. ______________________________________________________________________ Why join the Outils de Paix Board? Help shape the vision and strategic direction of a network dedicated to peace and social cohesion. Use your skills to support sound, ethical, and transparent governance. Support the organization’s development alongside the coordination team and partners (at the strategic level). ______________________________________________________________________ Mandate (governance only) This Board member role is **purely strategic** and aligned with the real responsibilities of a Board of Directors. It consists of setting direction, providing oversight and accountability, protecting the organization’s best interests, and ensuring legal and ethical compliance. **No operational tasks** (e.g., execution, content production, logistics, day‑to‑day tool updates) are expected as part of this mandate. ______________________________________________________________________ Key responsibilities (governance) Attend Board meetings and contribute to strategic decisions (vision, priorities, action plan, policies). Monitor organizational performance and health: review reports, track objectives, and provide recommendations. Oversee the Executive Director/Coordinator (objectives, accountability, support and guidance at the governance level). Approve the budget and review financial statements; ask questions, assess risks, and support governance‑level decisions. Support compliance, legal obligations, and risk management (policies, ethics, practices). Serve on a Board committee based on your profile and the organization’s needs. Contribute, as needed, to strategic representation and partnership development (ambassador role, not operational). ______________________________________________________________________ Desired profile Commitment to the mission of Outils de Paix and interest in nonprofit governance. Sound judgment, integrity, discretion, sense of responsibility, and analytical skills. Ability to contribute to decision‑making discussions and work collaboratively. Experience in governance, finance, law, HR, management, philanthropy, or strategy is an asset (not required).
