POSITION OVERVIEW RESPONSIBILITIES QUALIFICATIONS SCHEDULE: Flexible- Monday-Tuesday from 4-7 :30 PM and Wednesday-Thursday from 4-6 :15 PM
Reporting to the Community tutoring Coordinator, the successful candidate will help one or more youth aged 12 to 17 with their schoolwork to foster their overall academic success.
• Help students complete their schoolwork.
• Help youth improve their abilities in various school subjects.
• Build strong relationships with youth by being a good role model.
• Adhere to the YMCA’s Child Protection Policies and Procedures.
• Being interested in being in contact with high school students and having the ability to build trust with them is a must.
• Fluency in French and/or English (fluency in both languages is an important asset).
• Being familiar with grade 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 core subjects (Secondary I, II, III, IV and V).
• Being empathic, patient, and personable.
• Having no criminal record in connection with the volunteer role.
