Context of the mandate

Who are we?

École entreprise Formétal is a social economy enterprise with a mission of social integration that has been operating in the Pointe-Saint-Charles neighborhood for over 35 years. What makes us unique is the complementary nature of our social integration function and our genuine, non-profit economic activity in the metal manufacturing sector.

We welcome participants into a six-month training program, at the end of which they earn a certificate in a semi-skilled trade by the Ministry of Education through our partnership with a School Services Centre. Our mission is to provide a positive, empowering experience and help build a brighter future for individuals facing barriers to employment. Would you like to help support our mission as well?

Tasks

Bring expertise in adult education, vocational training, and workforce integration to the Board, along with a strong knowledge of the sector’s networks and institutions.

Desired qualifications

We are seeking an individual with experience in the adult education sector or in vocational training. Previous experience serving on a Board of Directors or in a management role would be considered an asset.

The board of directors wishes to have diverse profiles among its members. Current members come from the fields of communications, human resources, law, engineering, finance and business. Directors are not required to seek funding or donations.

Expected level of involvement

Board meetings are held approximately every six weeks, with meetings offered in a hybrid format. There may also be opportunities to participate on a committee from time to time.
