Context of the mandate

Les Petits Frères supports older adults experiencing loneliness and social isolation throughout the rest of their lives. Through the presence and dedication of volunteers, the organization helps reduce isolation, encourage social participation, and foster meaningful, lasting human connections.

Tasks

We are currently looking for an Italian-speaking volunteer to visit an older woman and offer her moments of companionship, attentive listening, and conversation in her native language.

Through friendly visits, you will help reduce her social isolation and build a meaningful connection with her, while respecting her pace, interests, and needs.

The Les Petits Frères team provides ongoing support throughout your volunteer involvement. A criminal background check may be required for this type of volunteer opportunity.

Desired qualifications

• Active listening, empathy, and kindness

• Fluency in spoken Italian

Expected level of involvement

2 to 4 contacts per month with the older adult.
