Context of the mandate
Auberge Transition is a shelter that provides support and accommodation to women who have experienced intimate partner violence and their children. During the holiday season, we wish to offer our residents a warm, safe, and welcoming environment where they and their children can enjoy special moments despite the challenges they may be facing. We are looking for volunteers to support our team, primarily during the evenings, throughout the holiday season. Volunteers will contribute to organizing and facilitating Christmas activities for women and children, assisting with meal preparation, decorating the shelter, and helping care for children during certain activities. Their involvement will help provide mothers with some much-needed respite, encourage meaningful connections between residents and their children, reduce social isolation, and create positive memories during the holiday season. Through their generosity and commitment, volunteers will help bring warmth, joy, and holiday magic to the women and children we support.
Tasks
Lead and participate in Christmas activities for women and children. Provide childcare during certain activities. Assist with meal preparation and serving. Help decorate the shelter for the holiday season. Assist with organizing and setting up holiday activities. Help create a warm, welcoming, and safe environment for residents and their children.

A warm, caring, patient, and enthusiastic individual. An interest in working with women and children. Comfortable facilitating activities and working as part of a team. Demonstrates openness, respect, and discretion. Sensitive to the realities faced by women experiencing intimate partner violence. Available primarily during evenings throughout November and December. No specific experience is required, although experience working with children is an asset. Important: Confidentiality, respect, and a non-judgmental attitude are essential in our shelter environment.
Expected level of involvement

Be available for the full duration of the agreed volunteer shift. Demonstrate punctuality, reliability, and flexibility. Actively participate in activities and collaborate with the shelter's staff.
