Context of the mandate

Projections libérantes is a Montreal-based artistic company dedicated to the creation and production of concert music. We are looking for two people to join our board of directors and contribute to the continuity and development of our activities. Depending on their interest, one of them could later take on the role of Chair of the Board.

This commitment offers the opportunity to directly support musical creation, the work of artists and the encounter between works and audiences, in collaboration with composer and artistic director Simon Martin.

Tasks

– Take part in board meetings, prepared by director Simon Martin;
– Contribute to the company’s direction and sound management, together with the other board members;
– Put their skills at the service of the organization;
– Support the director with the organization’s development and sustainability challenges;
– Help raise PL’s profile and develop its relationships with partners.

Desired qualifications

A person interested in artistic creation and music, with good judgment and a collaborative spirit.

Skills in business, law, finance, management of cultural organizations or partnership development are assets. Board experience is desirable but not required.

We are looking for an available and committed person who understands the realities of an independent company and respects its artistic autonomy.

We hope to welcome someone willing to commit for a few years to help ensure the organization’s continuity. The mandate is renewable annually, taking into account changes in availability and personal and professional circumstances.

Expected level of involvement

The mandate includes taking part in three to four board meetings per year, as well as in the organization’s annual fundraising campaign.
