Context of the mandate

The Valiquette Academy Foundation, a registered Canadian charity located in Côte-des-Neiges, is seeking enthusiastic and dependable volunteers to facilitate children's activities during Winter Camp 2026.

The camp will take place on December 21, 22, 23, 28, 29 and 30, 2026. It offers educational, sports, recreational and arts and crafts activities in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Volunteers will join a dedicated team helping children develop confidence, creativity, social skills and teamwork.

This opportunity allows volunteers to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children in our community while developing practical skills in activity facilitation, communication and leadership.

Tasks

• Organise and facilitate age-appropriate games, sports, arts and crafts, and recreational activities.

• Encourage participation, creativity, confidence and teamwork.

• Assist with supervising and supporting children during activities.

• Collaborate with team members to ensure activities run smoothly.

• Prepare and organise activity materials and equipment.

• Help maintain a positive, and welcoming environment.

• Serve as a positive role model for children.

Desired qualifications

We are looking for enthusiastic, patient, dependable and caring individuals who enjoy working with children.

• Experience working with children is an asset, but not required.

• Comfortable facilitating or assisting with games, sports and creative activities.

• Able to communicate in English or French; bilingualism is an asset.

• Demonstrates initiative, organisation, creativity and teamwork.

• Punctual, responsible and enthusiastic.

• Comfortable interacting with children and families from diverse cultural backgrounds.

University students, CEGEP students and community members are welcome.

Orientation and guidance will be provided to volunteers.

Expected level of involvement

This is a short-term volunteering opportunity during the winter holidays.

Dates: December 21, 22, 23, 28, 29 and 30, 2026 (6 days).

Camp operating hours: 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM.

Volunteer shifts: 4–8 hours per day, with flexible scheduling.

Minimum commitment: 2 days.

Volunteers may choose half-day or full-day shifts according to their availability.
