Context of the mandate
Founded in 2011, the Valiquette Foundation is a Montreal-based registered charity dedicated to helping children and youth build successful, self-sufficient futures, regardless of their family's financial circumstances. Located in Côte-des-Neiges, we provide academic tutoring, educational camps, mentorship, youth development programs and practical life skills. Each year, we support approximately 675 children and youth. We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to help decorate our Academy on Sunday, October 25, 2026, in preparation for our annual Halloween celebration. Volunteers are also warmly invited to participate in our Halloween celebration on Saturday, October 31, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and assist with cleanup afterwards. Your contribution will help us create a safe, welcoming and memorable Halloween experience for children and families in our community.
Tasks
Help put up Halloween decorations throughout the Academy. Decorate classrooms, hallways and common areas. Prepare activity spaces for our Halloween celebration. Work collaboratively with other volunteers and staff. Help create a festive and welcoming environment for children. Volunteers returning on October 31 may assist with event setup, decorations and cleanup following the celebration.
Desired qualifications
We welcome, reliable and enthusiastic volunteers who enjoy working as part of a team and contributing to their community. No previous experience is required. Creativity, initiative, a positive attitude and a willingness to help are appreciated. Individuals and groups are welcome. Volunteers should be comfortable with light physical activities such as arranging decorations and moving small items.
Expected level of involvement
Sunday, October 25, 2026: 12 pm to 3 pm (3 hours) – Setting up decorations and preparing for Halloween. Saturday, October 31, 2026: 5 pm to 8 pm – Volunteers are invited to participate in our Halloween party and help with the cleanup after the event. We encourage volunteers to participate in both days.
