Context of the mandate

For over 60 years, Les Petits Frères has been supporting elders experiencing loneliness and social isolation. Thanks to the dedication of its volunteers, the organization fosters meaningful and lasting human connections, ensuring that every elder can age surrounded by care and companionship, with dignity and respect.

Tasks

Les Petits Frères is looking for a volunteer with experience supporting individuals living with neurocognitive disorders to provide companionship through visits in a long-term care facility (CHSLD).

Your Role: Offer warm and reassuring companionship to an elder living in a CHSLD, while respecting their pace, needs, and abilities.

Desired qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals living with neurocognitive disorders;
• Patience, empathy, and strong adaptability skills;
• Comfortable in a long-term care setting;
• Ability to build a trusting relationship with an elder.

Expected level of involvement

Depending on the volunteer’s availability, at least once a month.
