Context of the mandate

The Théâtre Lyrichorégra 20 aims to promote classical music and dance to the general public and to support musicians and opera artists. Its main mission is to increase appreciation and awareness of opera among the general public, both young and old, to encourage and promote emerging artists from here and abroad, to foster international exchanges between artists, and to support young singers who wish to embark on an international career. 
Created in 1994, Jeunes Ambassadeurs Lyriques is a professional integration program for young opera singers seeking an international career. Since its inception, the program has supported and launched the careers of hundreds of artists, many of whom now sing on the world’s greatest opera stages.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the supervision of the Vice-President of the Board of Directors and in collaboration with the volunteer team, the Production Assistant actively supports the production and logistics of the artistic projects of Théâtre Lyrichorégra 20, particularly the international opera program Les Jeunes Ambassadeurs Lyriques. They play a central role in the development of activities, welcoming and engaging stakeholders (artists, audiences, partners), as well as supporting internal and external communications, thereby contributing to the success of events and the organization’s artistic visibility.

They will notably participate in the organization of the 19th Rencontres lyriques internationales de Montréal and the 32nd Jeunes Ambassadeurs Lyriques Gala, taking place next October.

Tasks

Depending on their skills and availability, the Production Assistant may be called upon to:

• Support the planning, coordination and logistics of artistic activities and events;
• Assist with participant registration, transportation, accommodation, schedules and meetings;
• Follow up with artists, guest directors, service providers, partners and institutions;
• Support fundraising activities, partner and donor relations, and recognition of their contributions;
• Assist with the writing, editing, updating and distribution of communications and promotional materials;
• Contribute to promoting activities through the website, social media, newsletters, media and other channels;
• Support administrative tasks, management tools and volunteer coordination;
• Assist with guest reception, organizational representation and the smooth running of events.

Desired qualifications

Essential Skills and Qualifications

• Training or experience in event production, coordination, communications, or a related field;
• Strong sense of responsibility, reliability, good judgment, autonomy, and initiative;
• Excellent planning and organizational skills, attention to detail, and strong work ethic;
• Ability to anticipate needs, adapt quickly, and respond effectively;
• Bilingual in French and English, both written and spoken;
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure with tight deadlines;
• Strong diplomacy skills, discretion, excellent interpersonal abilities, and strong communication skills;
• Excellent knowledge of office and digital tools (Google Workspace, Word, Excel);
• Knowledge of or interest in performing arts, classical music, and opera;
• Access to a personal computer with Microsoft Office Suite.

Assets

• Knowledge of Mailchimp, Canva, WordPress, social media platforms, or other communication tools;
• Previous work or volunteer experience in a cultural or community organization.
