Context of the mandate

Join the Festival du monde arabe de Montréal team for its 2026 edition, taking place from October 30 to November 15. The program includes 39 cultural events, performances, talks, discussions, workshops and film screenings, presented at several venues across Montréal.

As a front-of-house volunteer, you will help create a warm, inclusive and well-organized experience for festival audiences. Your contribution supports the celebration of the arts, cultures and perspectives of the Arab world and its diasporas.

 

Tasks

• Welcome audience members courteously and direct them to the appropriate venue or room;
• Provide basic information about the activity and on-site procedures;
• Support audience flow and seating, following the instructions of the on-site supervisor;
• Refer questions or situations requiring follow-up to the on-site supervisor.

 

Desired qualifications

• Interest in arts, culture and intercultural dialogue;
• Strong welcome and customer-service skills, with a respectful and professional approach;
• Reliability, punctuality and an ability to follow team instructions;
• Comfort working in a dynamic environment with diverse audiences;
• Ability to remain standing for part of a shift, depending on the venue and activity;
• No previous experience is required.

Expected level of involvement

One or more volunteer shifts between October 30 and November 15, 2026. Shifts take place mainly in the evenings and on weekends, depending on the program and the needs of each activity. Volunteers share their availability, and the final schedule is confirmed by the Festival team. Availability for more than one shift is appreciated.
