Context of the mandate

Projections libérantes is a Montreal-based arts company dedicated to creating and producing works of concert music. We are seeking someone to chair our Board of Directors and contribute to the continuity and development of our activities.

This role offers an opportunity to directly support musical creation, the work of artists and bringing their works to audiences, in collaboration with composer and Artistic Director Simon Martin.

Tasks

• Chair Board meetings prepared by Director Simon Martin;
• Encourage discussion, member participation and follow-up on decisions;
• Contribute to the company’s direction and sound management alongside fellow Board members;
• Support the Director in addressing the organization’s development and long-term sustainability;
• Help raise PL’s profile and develop its relationships with partners.

Desired qualifications

We are looking for someone interested in artistic creation and music, with sound judgment, a collaborative approach and the ability to engage a group.

Experience on a Board of Directors is desired. Skills in governance, cultural organization management, fundraising or partnership development are assets.

We are seeking someone who is available and committed, understands the realities of an independent company and respects its artistic autonomy.

We hope to welcome someone who envisions being involved for a few years to contribute to the organization’s continuity. The term is renewable annually, taking into account changes in availability and personal and professional circumstances.

Expected level of involvement

The role involves chairing three to four Board meetings per year, prepared by Director Simon Martin, as well as participating in the organization’s annual fundraising campaign.
