Context of the mandate

Génération DaVinci is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide young people with a space for creative experimentation that combines the arts and science, where they can thrive, learn, and develop a sense of agency in the context of the ecological transition.
We are currently in the midst of rolling out our strategic plan, and a position is available to help us bring our vision to life.

Tasks

As a board member, you will play a key role in the organization’s strategic governance, stability, and visibility.

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Actively participating in strategic decisions: Setting the direction, ensuring sound administrative and financial management, and supporting project development;
• Attend board meetings: Participate regularly in meetings (approximately once a month or according to the established schedule) and, as needed, serve on ad hoc working committees;
• Promote the mission: Act as an ambassador for the values of intersectorality, culture, and science championed by GDV

Desired qualifications

To complement and enhance the current expertise of the Board of Directors, we are seeking dynamic individuals with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

• Pedagogy and education: Teacher, educational advisor, educational technologist, or school professional (a particular asset for adapting our content to young people);
• Finance and accounting: Budget management, financial statements, or securing funding/grants;
• Business development and human resources: Partnership strategies, governance, or team management;
• Arts, culture, and science outreach: Expertise in research-creation, digital arts, or science communication.

Expected level of involvement

• Location: Alternating virtual and in-person meetings (Montreal/South Shore area)
• Commitment: Approximately 10 meetings per year (75 to 150 hours per year)
• Term of office: 2 years
