Context of the mandate

Travail Sans Frontières (TSF) is looking for new members to join its Board of Directors, particularly individuals with experience, expertise or an interest in the social services and/or arts sectors.

We are looking for individuals who want to bring their expertise and perspective to this mission while contributing to discussions and decisions about the future of TSF.

Tasks

Responsibilities

Board members are expected to:

• Actively participate in Board meetings and the Annual General Meeting;
• Contribute their expertise, experience and network, while respecting governance principles and avoiding conflicts of interest;
• Contribute to the organization’s mission and development;
• Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic directions;
• Oversee the sound management of the organization;
• Act as ambassadors for TSF and help promote its mission and activities within the community.

Desired qualifications

Individuals with experience, expertise or an interest in the social services and/or arts sectors.

Expected level of involvement

How it works

• 5 to 6 meetings per year, including Board meetings and the Annual General Meeting;
• Annual General Meeting held in December;
• Evening meetings, generally from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.;
• Meetings alternate between videoconference and in-person;
• Terms are generally 2 years;
• Opportunities to participate in working committees or specific projects;
• Directors are covered by directors’ and officers’ liability insurance.
