Context of the mandate
Partage & Solidarité is a charitable organization founded in 2017 and a recipient of Canada’s Volunteer Awards. Our mission is to reduce food waste and support the community by collecting unsold food from Montreal businesses and redistributing it free of charge, with no proof of eligibility or conditions required. Every month, thanks to the dedication of our volunteers, we rescue 35 to 40 tonnes of food and distribute 3,000 to 4,000 free food baskets across several Montreal boroughs. • Take concrete action against food waste This is a fully volunteer position. The time dedicated to deliveries and expenses related to the use of your personal vehicle, including gas, are not reimbursed by Partage & Solidarité. We are committed to providing a respectful, inclusive, and welcoming environment for everyone. With your help, 1 truck = 1 tonne of food rescued = 130 families fed. Tasks
We are looking for a volunteer delivery driver who is available every Tuesday to help us deliver food across the Plateau-Mont-Royal area. Your responsibilities will include: • Using your personal vehicle to make deliveries Please note: this role can be physically demanding, as it involves regularly lifting and moving boxes and food items.
• Delivering food to 2 or 3 locations in the Plateau-Mont-Royal area
• Helping load and unload food and boxes
• Working as a team of two to make loading and handling easier
Desired qualifications
• Reliable and punctual, and able to commit on a regular basis No previous experience is required. Reliability and a willingness to help your community are what matter most!
• Available every Tuesday from 1:30 p.m. to approximately 3:40 p.m.
• Holds a valid driver’s licence and has access to their own vehicle
• Comfortable driving and making deliveries in Montreal
• Physically able to lift, carry, and handle boxes of food
• Comfortable working as part of a team
• Independent, responsible, and respectful
• Committed to the values of community support, solidarity, and reducing food waste
Expected level of involvement
Regular, long-term commitment: approximately 2 hours per week, every Tuesday from 1:30 p.m. to 3:40 p.m. We are ideally looking for someone who can volunteer consistently each week throughout the year.
