Tasks

Job Description - Board Member

As a board member, you play a key role in the governance of the organization and help achieve its mission. Together with the other board members, you take part in strategic discussions and decision-making that support the development and sustainability of the organization.

Main Responsibilities

• Attend regular board meetings and general assemblies;
• Help develop and monitor the organization's strategic directions;
• Ensure good governance and that the organization's mission, values, and policies are respected;
• Review and approve budgets, financial statements, and major projects of the organization;
• Support the growth and visibility of the organization in the community;
• Act as an ambassador for the organization with partners and stakeholders.

Desired qualifications

• Strong interest in the organization's mission and values;
• Collaborative spirit, good judgment, and integrity;
• Ability to work in a team and contribute to discussions constructively;
• Experience or expertise in areas such as governance, finance, human resources, legal affairs, communications, community development, or management is a plus;
• Commitment to dedicating the necessary time to participate in board activities.
