Context of the mandate

Carrefour Parenfants is seeking a volunteer to provide French tutoring to two high school students, one in Grade 7 and the other in Grade 11.

Whether it's for reading comprehension, grammar, conjugation, writing, or study skills, these students need regular support to consolidate their knowledge and progress in this subject, which is essential to their academic success.

Tasks

• Help young people with their homework and studies in French;
• Explain grammar, conjugation, syntax, and reading comprehension concepts;
• Support writing assignments and reading;
• Encourage the development of good study habits;
• Foster independence, perseverance, and self-confidence;
• Adapt your support to each student's needs and level.

Desired qualifications

• Possess excellent written and spoken French skills;
• Are comfortable with the French language concepts taught at the secondary level;
• Enjoy working with teenagers;
• Demonstrate patience, active listening skills, and strong teaching abilities;
• Know how to encourage and motivate young people;
• Are reliable, punctual, and committed.

Expected level of involvement

Every Monday from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM, from September 21 to December 7, 2026
Continued involvement is also possible and encouraged: From January 14 to June 7, 2027
