Context of the mandate
47th International Symposium on Neuroscience at the University of Montreal
The Department of Neuroscience at the University of Montreal is proud to host the André Delambre Symposium on Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) Research as part of its 47th International Symposium.
This event will take place in Montreal from September 21 to 23, 2026, in the CRCHUM amphitheater, bringing together approximately 100 researchers, graduate students, and practitioners in the field of neuroscience to share the results of their research.
Tasks
Main Responsibilities:
- Display and update the daily schedule on the vertical screens.
- Attach poster numbers to the portable bulletin boards designated for presentations.
- Distribute name tags to participants, speakers, sponsors, and other attendees.
- Greet visitors and answer their questions.
- Guide and direct various groups to the appropriate locations (sponsors, registered participants, speakers, poster presenters, judges, caterers, etc.).
- Provide general support to the organizing team to ensure that activities proceed according to schedule.
Deliverables or Expected Results:
- Daily schedule posted correctly and on time.
- Mobile bulletin boards identified and ready for poster presentations.
- Name badges distributed efficiently to participants and speakers.
- Participants and partners welcomed, informed, and directed in a professional manner.
- Contribute to the smooth logistical running of the event and a positive experience for all attendees.

- Experience in reception, customer service, event planning, or logistical support (a plus).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to quickly resolve problems and respond to requests professionally.
- Independence, resourcefulness, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with various partners and suppliers.
- Good stress management and ability to maintain high-quality service during busy periods.

- Basic knowledge of computer tools and comfort using display screens or simple digital platforms.
- Availability to work according to the scheduled hours and ability to remain on one’s feet and active for long periods of time.

- Tuesday, September 22: 6:45 AM to 8:00 PM
- Wednesday, September 23: 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM
