ABOUT LA CANTINE POUR TOUS

La Cantine pour tous is a collective that brings together social and solidarity economy organizations united by a shared commitment to work together to help address food insecurity in Quebec.

Here are some figures illustrating our strong growth:

• A network of more than 100 member organizations spread across Quebec,
• More than 1,300,000 healthy meals prepared and distributed each year,
• A 25% annual growth in the volume of activities over the past few years.

Tasks

BACKGROUND AND ROLE WITHIN THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

La Cantine pour tous’s operations increasingly rely on essential digital tools (notably a transactional platform and an ERP system). To support this transformation and ensure comprehensive and secure management of its resources, the Board of Directors is seeking to bring on board specialized expertise in information technology (IT) and cybersecurity.

The individual will be expected to make strategic contributions to the following areas:

Optimizing the Use of Digital Technology and IT:

• Advise the Board of Directors on the overall evolution of the organization’s digital ecosystem (administrative management tools, infrastructure, ERP, transactional platform).
• Support the strategic development of IT to optimize administrative and operational processes.

Data governance, cybersecurity, and risk management:

• Ensure the assessment and mitigation of IT risks across the entire administration and operations.
• Guide the Board in implementing rigorous cybersecurity and data governance policies to protect the sensitive information of our members, donors, and the vulnerable populations we serve.
• Actively participate in the work of the committee responsible for risk management and IT.

Desired qualifications

DESIRED PROFILE AND REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:

• A college degree (or equivalent experience) in computer science, software engineering, cybersecurity, information systems management, or a related field;
• Relevant experience (at least 5 years) in strategic IT management, systems architecture, digital transformation, or cybersecurity;
• Previous experience serving on a board of directors or an advisory committee is a plus.

Key Skills and Qualities:

• Strategic vision and a comprehensive understanding of digital challenges within an organization;
• A strong sense of governance, ethics, and data protection;
• Team spirit, a collaborative approach, and analytical rigor;
• A strong interest in the social mission of La Cantine pour tous.

Expected level of involvement

Term of office: 2 years (renewable)

Required Commitment

• 6 to 8 regular Board meetings per year (virtual and in-person);
• Attendance at the Annual General Meeting (AGM);
• Service on a Board committee (e.g., Risk Management Committee / IT Strategy Committee: approx. 3 to 4 additional meetings per year).

Meeting location: Hybrid (videoconference and in-person meetings in Montreal)
