Context of the mandate

GEM is an organization that receives donations for its permanent thrift store. We offer clothing for children aged 0 to 5, maternity and breastfeeding clothing, as well as toys, books, and early childhood supplies (hygiene products, baby care items, strollers, etc.).

Tasks

The task consists of sorting all donations and putting the items in their appropriate places in the thrift store, with the support of the person in charge. It also involves taking bags of clothing that are not in good condition or cannot be sold at the thrift store to a Renaissance donation drop-off location.

The person may also help with welcoming and greeting families during special events organized by thrift store of GEM, including Halloween, Christmas, Easter, and other special occasions.

Desired qualifications

• Be detail-oriented and enjoy sorting and handling donated and second-hand items.
• Be comfortable carrying and lifting items weighing up to 15 kg (33 lbs).
• Having access to a vehicle is an asset.

Expected level of involvement

Volunteering once or twice a week.

• Tuesdays: 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
• Wednesdays and Thursdays: 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. or approximately 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
• Fridays: 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. or approximately 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. During special sales, the volunteer may be asked to work in the evening, until 7 p.m.
• Saturdays and Sundays: Upon request, for special events.
