Context of the mandate

The Day Center’s cafeteria offers complete, balanced meals Monday through Friday, starting at noon, to youth who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. The cafeteria serves as a place of respite and comfort for these youth. At each lunch, nearly 150 meals are served to the youth. 

Tasks

Volunteers, under the supervision of the person in charge of the kitchen, help set up before the meal and serve food to the young people.

Desired qualifications

We are looking for people who are kind and nonjudgmental, and who are committed to maintaining confidentiality. They must also be able to follow the hygiene guidelines provided by the kitchen staff. 

Expected level of involvement

We are looking for people who can volunteer from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., one day a week, ideally on a long-term basis (6 months or more).
