Context of the mandate

Would you like to make a difference in the lives of patients? Join our volunteer team in either Rehabilitation Services or Patient Visiting Services. Volunteers provide support, companionship, and help create a welcoming and caring environment.

Come meet the Volunteer Coordinator for a brief interview and information session.

Available Dates: 

• Wednesday, August 26: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. 

• Thursday, August 27: 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. 

Tasks

TASKS: Rehabilitation Services and Patient Visiting 

• Welcome and accompany patients in rehabilitation areas or care units.

• Provide friendly companionship, active listening, and social support to patients.

• Encourage patient well-being, inclusion, and participation in appropriate activities.

• Engage in conversation and meaningful interaction to help reduce social isolation.

• Work collaboratively with staff while respecting confidentiality, safety procedures, and organizational policies.

Desired qualifications

• Intermediate proficiency in English and/or French; additional languages are an asset.
• Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage comfortably in conversation with patients.
• Interest in a hospital and healthcare environment.

Expected level of involvement

Expected commitment: availability for a 2- to 3-hour volunteer shift per week, weekdays between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., for a minimum period of three months.
