Context of the mandate

The CIUSSS du Centre-Sud is looking for hairdressers or barbers for our two Panache youth salons.
Volunteering at the salon involves offering free haircare and haircuts on straight or frizzy hair types.

Volunteer locations: Montreal East (12165, blvd St-Jean-Baptiste) and/or Ahuntsic (9335 St-Hubert)

Tasks

Specific tasks:     

• Greet children/youth upon arrival at the salon
• Discuss expected hairstyle / cut
• Advise on hair washing and styling methods
• Style children/youth

Desired qualifications

Required skills:

• Professional hairstylist or barber
• Maturity, respect and commitment
• Responsibility and confidentiality
• Good listening and communication skills
• Courtesy and kindness
• Punctuality, patience and flexibility. 
• Ability to communicate in French

Expected level of involvement

Minimum commitment of 6 months.

Schedule: 3-4 hours (Mondays between 4:30 p.m. and 8 p.m.). Volunteer shifts take place every 2 or 4 weeks for the Ahuntsic site, and every 6 weeks for the Montréal-Est site.
