The GEM’s mission is to welcome, enrich, and celebrate the parenting experience. It aims to break down isolation and support parents in their roles by providing a place for them to meet, recharge, and support one another. We work with families with children ages 0–11, promoting family well-being and development.

Context of the mandate

Le Groupe d’entraide maternelle (GEM) is looking for a motivated and creative volunteer to help lead recreational and educational activities for children ages 3 to 10.

Tasks

Duties:

• Lead creative workshops (painting, crafts, fun cooking).
• Organizing active games and quiet activities suitable for children.
• Helping supervise children during special events and themed workshops.
• Preparing and putting away the materials used.

Desired qualifications

• Enjoy working with young children and demonstrate patience.
• Be energetic, warm, and creative.
• Be able to lead a small group while ensuring the children’s safety and well-being.
• Have strong organizational and teamwork skills.

Expected level of involvement

Friday evenings from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
(monthly pajama parties: Friday, September 11, Friday, October 30, Friday, November 13 and Friday, December 4, 2026)

and

Saturday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
(creative workshops: Saturday, September 5, Saturday, September 19, Saturday, October 3, Saturday, October 17, Saturday, November 7, November 21, December 5 and Saturday, December 19, 2026).
