Context of the mandate

Our volunteers are at the heart of the event: welcoming guests, helping set up the celebration site, guiding participants along the walk route, and helping create an unforgettable evening of hope, remembrance, and community.

We are looking for friendly, enthusiastic, and reliable volunteers who care about the blood cancer community and want to make a real difference. Sound like you?

Tasks

Light The Night Volunteer Roles. 

• Event Day Set‑Up  - Help transform the space before the event by decorating the venue, assembling lanterns, and setting up signage.
• Welcome Guests  - Greet participants, answer basic event questions, and help set a welcoming tone.
• Registration Area  - Check in walkers, distribute materials, and answer basic event questions.
• Lantern Distribution  - Distribute red and white lanterns to participants and help answer lantern‑related questions.
• VIP Zone  - Support the VIP area where top teams, sponsors, and special guests are seated by welcoming guests, answering questions, collecting additional lanterns, and assisting with VIP requests as needed.
• Kids Zone  - Oversee the Kids Zone and help ensure activities run smoothly. Activities are mostly self‑service, but your presence helps create a safe, fun environment.
• Route Marshal  - Guide and cheer walkers along the route, helping create a safe, smooth, and meaningful walk.
• Event Tear‑Down  -  Help pack up equipment and leave the site clean at the end of the event.

Desired qualifications

No experience required.

Expected level of involvement

Morning Shift (10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)
Help with event setup and preparation.

Afternoon & Evening Shift (4:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.)
Welcome guests, support the walk, and assist with event teardown.
