Context of the mandate

The General Maintenance Attendant performs routine maintenance work and minor repairs to keep the organization’s facilities safe, functional, and well maintained. This person supports various departments by carrying out maintenance tasks and responding to daily requests.

Tasks

• Perform minor repairs in the organization’s various buildings.
• Conduct preventive maintenance rounds in each building to make any necessary corrections.
• Assemble and install furniture, shelves, accessories, and equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance work, including painting and touch-ups.
• Carry out general repairs needed to maintain a safe and functional environment.
• Move furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed.
• Participate in the pickup of donated furniture, clothing, and accessories.
• Participate in facility improvement projects and perform any other related tasks.
• Use hand and power tools safely.
• Will work alongside another employee who is fulltime.

Desired qualifications

• Experience in general building maintenance, facility maintenance, or handyperson-type work is an asset.
• Basic knowledge of painting, carpentry, furniture assembly, and minor repairs.
• Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
• Attention to detail and good organizational skills.
• Ability to lift and move heavy loads.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

Expected level of involvement

Days & Hours: 2 half days per week any day of the week (Monday to Friday), morning (9am-12pm) or afternoon (13:00-16:00)
