Context of the mandate

The Transportation and Logistics Assistant is responsible for ensuring safe and reliable transportation services while supporting the organization’s logistics activities. This person ensures the timely delivery and pickup of donations, furniture, and equipment, and participates in inventory management and materials handling.

Tasks

• Drive the organization’s truck safely to transport supplies, equipment, and donations.
• Pick up donations from businesses, community partners, and donors.
• Make deliveries for the kitchen service.
• Deliver supplies and materials to the organization’s various service locations.
• Load, unload, and transport furniture, equipment, and other heavy items.
• Assist with moving furniture and equipment between different buildings.
• Participate in inventory management by keeping records up to date and assisting with inventory counts.
• Perform basic vehicle checks, keep vehicles clean, and promptly report any repair or maintenance needs.
• Follow traffic laws, road safety rules, and the organization’s transportation policies.
• Provide courteous and professional service to donors, partners, and members of the public.
• Will work alongside another employee who is fulltime.

Desired qualifications

• Valid driver’s licence and good driving record.
• Experience driving a truck or commercial vehicle is an asset.
• Ability to safely lift and move heavy loads.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Expected level of involvement

Days & Hours: 2 half days per week any day of the week (Monday to Friday), morning (9am-12pm) or afternoon (13:00-16:00)
