We are looking for volunteers to help families with simple administrative tasks:

• Registering for daycare / RAMQ / RQAP / GAMF / French language classes,
• Ordering a birth certificate online,
• Calling social services, etc.

Most of our families speak little English and rarely speak French, so they need someone to act as an intermediary to slow down the pace of administrative calls so they can fully understand what is happening.

No clinical judgment is required during these procedures, and La Maison Bleue staff are available to support volunteers at all times in case of questions or concerns. 

RELEVANT INFORMATION

• You must be comfortable working with children ages 0–5 and in intercultural settings.
• You must speak French and be comfortable speaking English.
• A confidentiality agreement is required, as you will be in contact with the families at La Maison Bleue. Please bring two forms of photo ID.
• A contact person will always be assigned to you on-site during your volunteer shift. You may consult with them as needed.
• We do not have a specific dress code. However, a minimum level of modesty is required given the family-oriented nature of our clientele.

Type and frequency of volunteer work:

Regular, on a weekly basis, indefinite duration—Seeking a long-term volunteer (minimum 3 months).

Dates and schedule: Between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, depending on the volunteer’s availability and the availability of space at La Maison Bleue. Minimum 3-hour shifts, once or twice per week, mornings or afternoons.

IMPORTANT

If this is your first time volunteering at La Maison Bleue in Parc-Extension, please arrive 45 minutes before your volunteer shift begins to tour the facility, learn about the organization, receive basic instructions, and sign the confidentiality agreement.

If this is not your first time volunteering at Maison Bleue, please arrive 15 minutes before your volunteer activity to receive instructions for that day’s activity.
