About Welfare Avenue Welfare Avenue is a community organization that is led by students from various fields of study and academic institutions based both in Montreal and Ontario. Our team of staff and volunteers work diligently with partnering organizations and community members at large to address the needs of the population we serve and to work collaboratively to ensure a better future for all. We are looking for a dedicated and community-minded Beneficiary Community Team Leader to help guide and support our outreach efforts. In this role, you will lead a small team of volunteers, foster positive relationships with beneficiaries, and help ensure our programs run smoothly and effectively. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about community impact and looking to build leadership experience in the nonprofit sector.
Tasks
Key Responsibilities Coordinate and support a team of volunteers working with beneficiaries Assist in organizing and delivering community programs and initiatives Act as a point of contact between volunteers, beneficiaries, and leadership Foster a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive environment Help identify community needs and share feedback with the organization Track basic participation and program outcomes Support onboarding and mentoring of new volunteers

Expected level of involvement
We are looking for a volunteer who is available every other Sunday, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. (in person), and every other Monday, from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. (online). While we are ideally seeking a volunteer who can commit on a long-term basis to ensure continuity, we are happy to accommodate shorter commitments based on the volunteer's availability.
