Purpose of the position: The Library Assistant assists the Librarian with library operations and with the general upkeep of the library to ensure that the books we deliver to our partners are in good condition. Whom we serve: Partner organizations such as daycares, community centers, and hospitals that cater to children up to 8 years old. Commitment: 2 to 3 hours or more per week for a minimum of 2 months. We want to be flexible with the volunteer’s schedule, but we value consistency and, above all, communication. Training : Library Assistant volunteers will receive on-the-job training from the librarian. Covid-19 measures : Volunteers must adhere to the COVID-19 protocol of the Fraser Hickson Institute.
