À travers nos services psychosociaux et communautaires, nous soutenons des familles souvent marquées par la détention, l’instabilité résidentielle, la pauvreté, la stigmatisation, les ruptures parentales ou l’ ADHARA, formerly Continuité famille auprès des détenues (CFAD), has been supporting justice-involved women and people from sexually and gender diverse communities, as well as their children, for the past 40 years, from a perspective rooted in social justice, non-judgment, and reintegration. Through our psychosocial and community services, we assist families often affected by incarceration, housing instability, poverty, stigma, parental separation, or involvement with youth protection services.

ADHARA supports women and people of diverse sexual and gender identities who are involved in the criminal justice system or at risk of becoming so, as well as their children, in their efforts to maintain and strengthen bonds with one another and with their loved ones. By supporting their ability to take action individually and collectively, ADHARA contributes to social reintegration and helps reduce the risk of recidivism among offenders.

We are looking for someone interested in helping to run our organisation’s second-hand clothes shop once a month at our day centre.

The volunteer would be responsible for soliciting clothing donations from identified partners, identifying businesses likely to donate clothing, collecting the donations, sorting them and displaying them in the designated area at our day centre. During second-hand shop activities, she may be required to assist with sales, stock distribution and advising customers. 

ADHARA covers transportation costs and all the equipment and supplies needed to carry out the volunteer work.
