The Marie-Gérin-Lajoie Social Training Center (CMGL) is seeking a volunteer administrator to serve on its board of directors. 

The CMGL works to build a more just, inclusive, and nonviolent society by creating spaces for dialogue, civic education, conflict prevention, and social transformation. Its work is grounded in the values of peace, nonviolence, social justice, inclusion, dialogue, and civic engagement.  

Desired Profile: Philanthropy 

Philanthropy involves supporting a cause of collective interest by developing resources, mobilizing networks, sharing expertise, or creating partnerships. 

We are looking for someone with an interest or experience in one or more of the following areas: 

• Philanthropic development,
• Fundraising,
• Sponsorships and partnerships,
• Relationships with donors, foundations, or businesses,
• Network development and mobilization. 

Their expertise will help support the Center’s growth and sustainability while advancing its social mission. 

About the Board of Directors 

The Board of Directors is composed of 5 volunteer members. We are looking to welcome 2 new board members, including one person with a background in philanthropy. 

Term of Office and Commitment 

• Position: Volunteer Board Member;
• Term of Office: 2 years;
• Attendance at a minimum of 8 Board of Directors meetings per year;
• Contribution to the governance, strategic direction, and development of the Center.

Start Date 

The selected candidate may be co-opted as early as September 2026 to quickly begin participating in the work of the Board of Directors. 

Their official election will be put to a vote by the members at the Annual General Meeting on October 21, 2026. 

We are looking to meet candidates who: 

• Share the CMGL’s mission and values; 
• Possess a collaborative spirit and strategic thinking; 
• Wish to make a tangible contribution to the development of an organization committed to building a more just, inclusive, and peaceful society.
