Les Allumettes Proches Aidantes, a community theater organization, is seeking three new members for our Board of Directors. Our Annual General Meeting will take place in October.

If you have an interest in community theater and caregiving, and would like to help us strengthen our administrative structure and ensure the long-term sustainability of our organization, you are welcome to join us.

All levels of experience are welcome. We offer support, and we meet six times a year via videoconference and sometimes in person as well.

Our Mission

Les Allumettes Proches Aidantes is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to bring together, support, and mobilize family caregivers—or those who have been family caregivers— around a collective, community-driven artistic creation process led by committed professional artists. It is therefore both community-based and cultural, exploring and creating unique stage works using various performing arts techniques.

Its goal is to raise public awareness of the realities faced by family caregivers in partnership with those directly affected and within the context of various cultural, artistic, and community venues. It relies on advanced theatrical practice to create a sensitive and professional production.

Through community theater and various forms of artistic expression, the organization aims to:

• Break down the isolation experienced by family caregivers by encouraging them to express themselves, participate, and have their experiences recognized;
• Raise public awareness of the realities of family caregiving through artistic works rooted in lived experience and presented in community and public settings;
• Contribute to social change by valuing experiential knowledge and fostering the development of agency through collective creation.
