Do you care deeply about the well-being of isolated elders? Would you like to contribute to a meaningful, human-centered mission by helping break the isolation experienced by older adults — whom we affectionately call our Great Friends? Join the team at Les Petits Frères and help welcome and support them through their first steps with our organization.

When an isolated older adult reaches out for support, an initial meeting is organized to get to know them, better understand their reality, and assess their needs. These meetings also help us determine whether our organization is the right fit to accompany them.

We are currently looking for volunteers who would like to take part in these introductory assessment visits.

No experience is required — you simply need to feel comfortable meeting new people, have strong listening skills, and a good sense of observation.

Each volunteer receives training as well as personalized support to help them feel confident and at ease during their first visits.

Your time is valuable: the schedule is fully flexible and adapted to your availability. As many older adults are currently waiting to be matched with support, we ideally ask that volunteers be able to commit to completing visits once per week at minimum.

During these meetings, you may:

• talk with the person about their life story and experiences;

• discuss their daily routine, habits, and social network;

• explore their needs and interests regarding volunteer support;

• observe their living environment;

• present Les Petits Frères and provide them with information about the organization.
