Experience an immersive nature therapy program at Boisé-de-Saint-Sulpice Park. The La Forêt des Héros et Héroïnes therapeutic camp, a unique therapeutic program set in a natural environment, is seeking volunteers with a background in the helping professions (social work, psychology, psychoeducation, occupational therapy, or related fields) to join its team this summer. The general objectives of the therapeutic camp are: The therapeutic camp is designed according to a principle of reverse inclusion: it is tailored to the specific needs of neurodivergent children or those facing mental health challenges, while remaining open to everyone. Neurodiversity and differences are recognized and celebrated here, and the environment is adapted to provide a caring and safe setting. This is an exceptional opportunity to get involved in an innovative setting, while being supported and supervised by Véronique, psychologist and founder of S'élever en famille, and Max, a student in psychoeducation. Your Responsibilities Working directly with the two camp counselors, you will actively contribute to the group dynamic: Facilitation and Support: Assist the group with activities or provide one-on-one support to certain children as needed; Supervision: Ensure the group’s safety and cohesion when the counselor needs to handle unexpected situations; Collaboration: Be part of a shared experience where kindness and support are at the heart of every day. Commitment and Dates To ensure a stable connection with the children, we ask for a commitment of 4 consecutive days (Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.). Week of July 13 Week of July 27 You can volunteer for one of the two weeks or for both. Training Training provided: A 4-hour training session led by our team is included to prepare you for the camp’s specific approach and equip you with the necessary tools. Ideal Candidate Students (bachelor’s or master’s degree) or professionals in the helping professions (psychology, social work, education, TES, occupational therapy, etc.); Strong listening skills, empathy, and adaptability; An inclusive approach centered on the child’s needs; Interest in the following intervention approaches: nature therapy (eco-psychology), play therapy, solution-focused therapy, and narrative approaches; Ability to work in a forest setting all day long, rain or shine; A volunteer certificate can be issued at the end of your participation.
