Welfare Avenue is a national charitable organization that has been delivering hot meals, food baskets, hygiene products, and clothing to vulnerable populations in Montreal since 2020. We have served over 320 individuals per event across 7 shelter locations, supported by a community of 200+ volunteers. We are now looking for a volunteer Operations Manager to help us coordinate and execute our bi-weekly events and seasonal drives with greater structure and efficiency.

What you'll do: As our Operations Manager, you will be the backbone of our event logistics — ensuring every food distribution or drive runs smoothly from planning through execution. You will work directly with our Executive Director and team leaders on the ground.

• Coordinate volunteer schedules, site logistics, and supply needs for bi-weekly events
• Liaise with shelter partners and community organizations to confirm event details
• Oversee on-site setup, flow, and breakdown during food distribution events and drives
• Track supplies, donations, and volunteer attendance using our existing tools (ClickUp, Slack, Google Workspace)
• Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to streamline operations
• Support onboarding of new volunteers and team leaders

Who we're looking for:

• Experience in event coordination, logistics, or nonprofit operations
• Comfortable managing multiple moving parts in a fast-paced, community environment
• Strong communicator — able to lead a team of volunteers on the ground
• Bilingual (FR/EN) is a strong asset given our Montreal communities
• Reliable and mission-driven — you care about making a tangible difference

Time commitment: Long-term preferred. Events run bi-weekly on Sundays, with occasional prep during the week.
