This is a two-year (renewable) position as Treasurer on the organization's Board of Directors. The role involves working with other Board members and management to ensure the achievement of annual objectives outlined in the strategic plan, the implementation of internal policies, and the sound use of budgetary resources. Responsibilities 1. Participate in the monthly Board of Directors meetings, held in person on a Thursday afternoon each month; 2. Ensure the sound financial management of the organization. This does not involve involvement in day-to-day operations, but rather maintaining an overview of financial management and providing monthly support to operations (e.g., ensuring the payment of social security contributions). The organization works with an accounting firm for payroll and bookkeeping; 3. Participate in an annual planning meeting (one Sunday in April); 4. Attend the Annual General Meeting (early June, evening). Required Skills You are comfortable working in a team and with various management tools such as strategic planning, internal policies, and budgets. You have professional experience in accounting. Knowledge of fundraising is an asset but not required.
