The Centre d’écoute et de référence Halte Ami (CERHA), a Montreal-based community organization with over 39 years of experience, is currently recruiting new volunteers for its active listening training cohort starting in September 2026.

CERHA provides free, anonymous, and confidential listening services, as well as integration support, particularly for newcomers. Volunteers play a key role by offering a safe and supportive space to individuals experiencing personal, relational, professional, or academic challenges.

Active listening is at the heart of our mission. It involves welcoming others’ experiences with empathy, without judgment, and respecting each person’s pace and lived reality, in a safe and caring environment.

What we offer:

• A comprehensive training of approximately 50 hours in active listening and suicide prevention
• Ongoing supervision and continuous training
• A meaningful and enriching human experience within a committed community organization

Who we are looking for:

• Open-minded, empathetic individuals with strong listening skills
• Interest in helping relationships and community involvement
