Nous alimentons également la réflexion quant à la société de consommation, et nous nous engageons dans la défense de leurs droits individuels et collectifs. Our organization is directly involved with the people of Montreal’s Sud-Ouest borough. We help them assess their consumption choices and acquire better personal finance planning habits and provide training to help them avoid the various pitfalls of overconsumption and indebtedness. We also contribute to examining consumer society and are committed to advocating for individual and collective rights.

Front Desk / Reception Agent

ACEF of the South-West of Montréal is a rights‑advocacy organization working in the field of financial education.

The organization supports individuals in a process that enables them to:

• Find solutions to their debt situation;
• Better assess their consumer choices;
• Develop better budgeting and financial planning habits;
• Reflect on consumer society, avoid its pitfalls, and view it from a new perspective;
• Become involved in the defense of their individual and collective rights.

The volunteer we are looking for will be responsible for:

• Being the first point of human contact, providing reception by phone, in person, and by email;
• Directing individuals to appropriate activities and providing information and/or referrals as needed;
• Managing appointments and registrations for activities;
• Entering data and carrying out administrative tasks in support of activities.

Desired profile:

• Strong listening skills;
• Bilingual: French (spoken and written) and English (spoken);
• Good stress management;
• Strong interpersonal skills, particularly with people in emergency situations;
• Tact and diplomacy;
• Good time management;
• Team spirit;
• Excellent organizational skills;
• Punctuality and attention to detail;
• Data entry skills;
• Autonomy and resourcefulness.

Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, and/or Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. We are flexible if a volunteer is available for only part of the day and/or only some of the days.
