Perspective Autonomie en Santé Mentale is looking for experienced volunteers to serve on its seven-member board of directors. We are looking for committed, curious, and inspired individuals to contribute to our mission and actively participate in our strategic decisions. If you want to put your skills to work for a meaningful cause that has a tangible impact on people’s well-being, now is the perfect time to get involved. Responsibilities

The primary role of a board member of a nonprofit organization is to ensure the organization’s mission, its sustainability, and sound governance.

Their responsibilities include strategic planning, financial oversight, risk management, and supervising the executive team. They serve in a volunteer capacity, placing the organization’s interests before their own, while adhering to legal obligations.

Desired Qualifications

• Relevant experience in the community sector and/or a nonprofit organization
• Sensitivity to issues related to mental health is essential
• Interest in PASM’s mission and in peer support

Desired expertise
To diversify expertise, the board seeks to recruit individuals with knowledge in one or more of the following areas:

• Accounting, finance, and auditing
• Policy and procedure development
• Philanthropy and strategic development
• Digital marketing and communications
• Project management, team building, and human resources
• Legal experience

Expected Commitment

• Attendance at board meetings, the Annual General Meeting, and any special meetings
• Active involvement in a working committee (time commitment varies according to the organization’s needs)
• Contributing to the organization’s outreach
• Committing to a 2-year term, renewable

Requirements

• Experience serving as a director on a board of directors
• Relevant experience in the community sector and/or a nonprofit organization
