Call for Applications: Volunteers to Lead French Conversation Workshops from May to September

The CRIC (Intercultural Resource Center) is seeking volunteers to lead French conversation workshops. If you have a passion for the French language and would like to help newcomers improve their language skills in a friendly atmosphere, join us!

Role: Volunteer facilitators will be responsible for preparing and leading French conversation workshops for beginner or intermediate levels. These workshops will take place in a warm and inclusive environment, with an emphasis on oral practice through conversation, fun games, and discussions on a variety of topics.

Main tasks:

• Plan the workshop schedule and prepare fun, educational activities to support learning.
• Facilitate French conversation workshops for beginners or intermediate learners.
• Create an environment conducive to conversation and oral practice.
• Encourage active participation and interaction among participants.
• Help participants develop their vocabulary and fluency in French.

Required Qualifications:

• Strong command of the French language (spoken and written).
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Patience, kindness, and a desire to share your knowledge.
• Experience in group facilitation or teaching is a plus, but not required.
• Motivation to support learners on their language learning journey.

Commitment of 3 to 4 hours per week:

• 1.5 to 2.5 hours of preparation each week.
• 1.5 hours of facilitation each week. (Workshops take place at our location at 2240 Fullum Street)
