Are you interested in mental health issues? Are you interested in helping others?
Have you always wanted to get involved in a cause that is close to your heart?

ANEB Québec is currently looking for people to join its team of volunteers for its helpline and referral service!

Volunteers are responsible for answering calls and providing support to people suffering from eating disorders and their loved ones. 

To be eligible to volunteer for the helpline and referral service, you must meet the following criteria:

• Be available to take the training courses offered by ANEB via videoconference (21 hours).
• Have a university degree in the field of counseling or be in the process of obtaining one.
• Be available to work the helpline from home. It is important to have a good internet connection since the helpline uses VoIP software.
• Be available to work approximately three shifts per month (one shift = four hours): during the week between 5 p.m. and 9 p.m., including one shift on the weekend between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
• Be available to participate in group clinical supervision once every 8 weeks and individual supervision once every 3 months (via videoconference).
• Be bilingual (French/English).
• If you have suffered from an eating disorder, be recovered for at least 2 years.
• Commit to volunteering for at least one year.

Commitment period : 

175 hours (about a year)

*It is important to note that letters of reference may be issued after 175 hours of volunteer involvement.

Being part of our team of volunteers gives you the opportunity to make connections between your academic knowledge and experience, as well as to share your knowledge with others. It is also a way to perfect or develop your helping skills. As a volunteer, you will be able to participate in training sessions on various topics related to eating disorders.
