Saturday School is a fun, one-on-one tutoring service for youth from immigrant backgrounds. Individual tutoring allows students to experience positive learning moments and, as a result, develop their self-esteem and independence. With the help of a volunteer, the student works on their main difficulties in French and mathematics through educational games and engaging exercises. This way, the student is better equipped to complete homework and assignments at home in the evening. As a volunteer, you are matched with one student throughout your volunteer commitment. This thoughtful pairing helps build a trusting relationship that highlights each person’s strengths and qualities. Your support will have a real impact on the young person’s integration and academic success! You would like to… – Build a supportive and friendly relationship with a child Skills and qualifications sought – Knowledge of basic French principles and fluency in spoken French Important: You do not need prior experience with children or in education to volunteer.
