The Women’s Center of Montreal is seeking women volunteers to provide psychosocial support to participants referred by the intervention team. Volunteers support women experiencing various psychosocial challenges and sometimes living in precarious situations, using a feminist and empowerment-based approach that aims to support women’s autonomy and agency. This role involves offering listening, support, and guidance, but does not include providing psychotherapy. Volunteers may also facilitate or co-facilitate support groups. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in psychology or a related social sciences field (sexology, intervention, social work, or similar) At least 2 years of helping-relationship experience, ideally with adult women Availability of at least 4 hours per week for a minimum of 8 months Ability to use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), as well as Zoom and Dropbox Ability to speak and write in French (English and other languages are assets) Demonstrate autonomy, organization, compassion, sound judgment, maturity, and strong ethical standards, including careful note-taking and respect for the intervention framework Have a laptop with a camera and a confidential space to conduct online sessions We are looking for volunteers who are interested in supporting women facing psychosocial difficulties and precarity, who value a feminist, empowerment-based approach, and who are committed to open communication and long-term engagement.
