The Volunteer Bureau of Montreal and Accès-Bénévolat are organizing the Montreal Volunteer Meetups at the Grande Bibliothèque (BAnQ) on Sunday, April 19, 2026, as part of Volunteer Week. The goal of this event, which is open to the general public, is to promote volunteerism in Montreal and facilitate connections between people who want to get involved and community organizations in need of volunteer support. There will be booths run by some 30 organizations and mini-conferences. We are looking for volunteers with photography and/or video skills to immortalize this first edition. Our goal is to capture the overall atmosphere, but also, in terms of video, to collect testimonials from participants (organizations and volunteers) and to film the conferences in their entirety. As our event coincides with the launch of Volunteer Week, we will need to receive some of the content in the days following the event. Ideally, we would like to divide this task among 4 to 5 volunteers so as not to overload anyone and to be able to deal with any unforeseen circumstances. Prerequisites: - Photography or video skills, including editing (amateurs and self-taught individuals welcome) - Ability to show a few examples of your past work (not necessarily a full portfolio or professional book, but enough to give us an idea of your style) - Having your own photo or video equipment - Being available on Sunday, April 19, ideally from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., as well as for a preliminary meeting (at a flexible date) - Being able to provide at least some of the content within the week following the event Benefits for volunteers: - Free lunch - Support on the day of the event and beforehand (a member of the team will guide you on site to help you approach participants, and we will take the time to clarify the mandate together in a preliminary meeting) - Letter of recommendation upon request - Sharing of your work on our networks (with credit to you, of course!) - The opportunity to connect with other organizations looking for volunteers if you wish to get involved again after the event - Volunteer recognition events with the VBM
