The CIUSSS du Centre-Sud is looking for volunteers to accompany a user to a recurring or one-time activity : medical appointment, grocery shopping, leisure outing. 

You will be paired with a user living with a physical disability. 

Specific tasks  :

• Go to the appointment with the user, accompany him/her to the activity and escort him/her home.
• Assist with orientation and facilitate communication when required.
• Talk to the user and ensure his/her comfort.
• No car required
• Inform the caregiver of any peculiarities.

Required qualities : 

• Be a good listener, empathetic, punctual, autonomous, responsible, mature, patient, able to exercise discretion and guide a person.
• Ability to communicate in French.

• Receipt of a written attestation confirming volunteer activities and hours completed.

The volunteer is supervised by the user’s caregiver and the volunteer manager.

Volunteering location : in the community or at the user’s home 

Commitment period : At least 3 months

Schedule : Depending on volunteer's availability and needs.
