CÉDA is looking for volunteers for its tax clinic for low-income individuals in southwest Montreal.
By joining the team, you will make a tangible contribution to facilitating access to an essential service for individuals and families in your community.

Role description

Volunteers will be responsible for welcoming taxpayers, taking their basic information, and/or helping them fill out their tax returns. We are also looking for people to help schedule appointments for the tax clinic.

Online training will be provided, as well as a meeting with all the volunteers, and team members will be on hand to help you if you encounter any special cases.

Desired profile

• Be comfortable communicating with the public, with patience and kindness
• Good listening skills and thorough note-taking
• Comfortable with paper and/or computerized forms
• No professional experience in taxation/accounting required, but having previously filed your own tax returns in Quebec is desirable
• We conduct a criminal background check for this role

Schedule & Location

• Start date: week of March 3
• Possible days: Tuesday, Wednesday, and/or Friday
• Hours: 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
• Commitment: 4 to 6 weeks
• Location: CÉDA offices at 2515 Delisle Street (5 minutes from Lionel Groulx metro station)
